Tyler Joseph formed Twenty One Pilots back in 2009 in Columbus, OH with Nick Thomas and Chris Salih who both left the band in 2011. The keyboardist helped release two self-released albums before being signed to a label in 2012. Drummer Josh Dun joined Tyler and the two released their first studio album Vessel in 2013. Their most current and most successful album to date, Blurryface, was released in 2015. The album was the first number one album on the Billboard 200 for the duo and sold 134,000 copies within a week. Their best known single Stressed Out hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

The duo hit it big as performers when they served as the opening act for Fall Out Boy’s ‘Save Rock and Roll’ tour in 2013. After performing at music festivals such as Lollapalooza and Boston Calling in 2014, the band began their first big tour in late 2014 called ‘Quiet Is Violent’ tour. After releasing Blurryface, the band started their world tour in Glasgow with fellow bands Echosmith and Finish Ticket. In 2016, the band’s song Heathens was featured the film Suicide Squad’s soundtrack. Most recently, the duo collaborated with alternative rock band Mutemath and released a five song EP that was free for fans.
